Matthew 1:6-7 Updated American Standard Version (UASV)
6 and Jesse became the father of David the king.
From David to the Babylonian Exile
And David became the father of Solomon by the wife of Uriah, 7 and Solomon became the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam became the father of Abijah, and Abijah became the father of Asa,[1]
Most of the differences are resolved by the fact that Matthew traced the line through Solomon, while Luke traced the line through David’s son Nathan. (Lu 3:31; Matt. 1:6-7) Matthew was giving his reader the legal genealogy through Jesus’ adoptive father Joseph, while Luke gave his readers Jesus’ natural genealogy.

[1] Gr Asaph; Asaph in some manuscripts; also verse 8
