Basically, Bible Difficulties are difficulties that arise because the Bible was written in Hebrew, some Aramaic, and Greek over 1,600 years by some forty+ authors, in dozens of different historical settings that require much Bible background knowledge. The Bible translation used can create a difficulty if it is dated or the translation is inaccurate. A difficulty can arise if the interpretation is wrong, there is a wrong conception of the Bible, and our imperfect knowledge of history, geography, and understanding of Bible times. A difficulty can arise if we miss the author’s intended meaning and read our interpretation into the text. We have to realize unexplained does not mean unexplainable. Difficulties can arise if we ignore literary styles and if there are two accounts of the same event being told from different vantage points, and if we ignore the context. Many other points are made, and far greater details are given in (1) the articles about Bible Difficulties. (2) Old Testament Bible Difficulties and (3) New Testament Bible Difficulties are found as categories with many articles beneath this page. You will find a drop-down if you simply hold your mouse over it. Alternatively, just click the link here.
