The disciples, including Peter, were concerned about the rewards for their sacrifices. Jesus assured them of abundant rewards in the kingdom of God. Although the promises were not for earthly power, the apostles found fulfillment in leading the early church. Believers are also promised eternal life and blessings for their sacrifices in this life.
